Stephen FitzGerald is an Ohio-based writing coach, international award-winning ghostwriter, publisher and editor.
From 2010-2019, Steve helped Island Writers Club members escape the rat race, identify their writing weaknesses and strengths, and then focus on their goals. He now coaches writers privately, traveling the U.S. and Canada for certain writing projects. In late 2021, he launched the literary journal Alphabet Box.
Steve is a past-president of the Society of Professional Journalists in Cleveland and the Association of Railway Communicators in Washington, D.C. He founded the Friday the 13th Poets and its “No Fear!” events. His poems “Becoming” and “Seasons” were selected for the 2018 and 2023 anthologies published by the Edith Chase Symposium and the Kent State University Wick Poetry Center. He has judged the 2019 and 2020 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.
He was editor-in-chief of Locomotive Engineers Journal, and associate editor of Foreign Trade magazine by Defense and Diplomacy. Steve has taught and presented at the Allied Media Conference, Western Reserve Writers Conference, Writers Center of Greater Cleveland, Oberlin Public Library, and several colleges and universities.
